Guess who’s back?

Hello World!

It’s 2017, and guess who’s back? Me! I know I’ve been a little MIA due to life, but now I’m in a place where I can actually focus balancing work and a healthy lifestyle again (hooray!). Since we last spoke, I have graduated college and work full time in the “adult world”.

The adult world has some caveats though. I never realized how tiring it is to work a regular 9-5 job. One would think that since I don’t have kids (unless you count my fur-child, Munchie) that I would have all of this energy and time to do things, right? Nope. Maybe it’s part of getting older and being in a routine, but I’m exhausted. Because of that, my health did start to go down hill- not working out as much, eating as many chicken fingers as I want, etc etc. As you can probably imagine, those things don’t necessarily help.

Finally, I decided to make a change. My favorite girl who invented POP Pilates, Cassey Ho, came out with something called PIIT28, which is the pilates version of HIIT workouts (high intensity interval training)! I’ve been a follower of her usual calendars, so when I saw PIIT, I was hooked. It’s about 28 minutes of super high energy pilates- you sweat, you burn, you get sore! Along with those lovely things, you feel STRONG. I’ve been doing it for 18 days, and I can already see my abs getting distinct again. Woo hoo!

In addition to PIIT28, I started the 28 Day Reset today! It’s a meal plan that goes hand-in-hand with PIIT28. You completely omit dairy (easy for me since I’m allergic, lol), gluten, sugar, and processed grains for 28 days, then slowly re-introduce these things while keeping up healthy eating. It’s genius! She gives you a weekly calendar of meals and a grocery list, so you literally just print it and go. I also appreciate that the recipes aren’t too complicated in nature, which makes prepping meals in advance easier. Seriously, if you’re looking for a way to kickstart your body for Summer, this is where it’s at.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation Review!

Today marks an exciting day- I finally started filming makeup reviews! This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time, but for whatever reason I thought my boyfriend would make fun of me (I don’t know why… he really doesn’t care lol). But I finally did it!

For my first review, I did the new L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte 24 Hour Foundation! In my video, I do a demo of how it goes on, and also my thoughts and feelings about it! Check it out:

Overall, I LOVE this foundation! It’s become my new go-to product, and I have tried all kinds of foundations (Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous, Clinique Stay Matte, Make Up Forever, and more). It is my holy grail foundation. I have very oily skin, so I need foundations that have oil control and don’t break down easily as the day goes on, and this does a fantastic job! After about 6 hours of wear I’ll start to look shiny, but not so bad that I look like an oil slick, which is amazing. It also blends beautifully into the skin with a beauty blender or sponge (foundation brush is a little streaky), and it doesn’t look thick and cakey as time goes on.

As I mentioned multiple times in the video, this foundation is a little darker than what the package shows, so if you are trying to decide between 2 shades, go with the lighter one!

***Update! I finally found the lighter shade (101) at Walgreens, and it is perfect for my winter complexion! It is much lighter than 102, so I will be saving that one for this Summer!


HappyBodyBlog has launched!

Today is the day! I am so excited to officially open HappyBodyBlog! I’m still working on the Twitter profile pictures and such, and writing content for posts (and a lot of things really…oops!), but the blog is up! My goal is to not only post about my adventures through attaining a healthy lifestyle, but to post factual information about today’s leading health concerns. I know just how hard it is to find information with all of the different websites and articles with differing views and facts, and the confusion that often comes up! Hopefully I will consolidate all of that information to make it easy for my readers to get the information they want! Big goals, I know! But it will happen πŸ™‚
